Originally from Santa Cruz, California, I was lucky to be born in a city with lots of yoga options. At age 14, my mother thought it was a good idea for me to do yoga – she said it would complement my soccer and protect my body from injury. I continued to practice on a very sporadic basis, until I was 16 and I decided that being on a yoga mat was more my calling than playing on the soccer field.
By 18 I was reading more yoga books and researching yoga than anything else, I finally signed up for my first yoga training and knew I was in for a life changing experience; after training I taught as much as I could anywhere and continued to learn from my senior teachers in the Bay Area of California. Since then I have taught at many yoga studios around the world and have studied under many inspiring teachers, including Dharma Mitra, Janet Stone, Aimee Joy Nitzenberg, Baron Baptiste, Duncan Peak and Sarah Powers.
I am lucky to live in Sumner with my lovely husband Josh, my son Lachie and my favourite furry friend Maverick. The three are my yoga, they keep me grounded, alive, in the moment, full of love and life.
Teaching will always be a part of my life, I am always learning from my students and growing with them, they are my true teachers.
