People often comment that as a teacher I’m great with all ‘the newbies’. As a teacher my focus is that the new members feel acknowledged, welcomed and safe as they embark on their first experience of yoga.
I completed my first teacher training with the Absolute School in Thailand in 2010 and have studied since with Donna Farhi 2011 and Duncan Peak 2012.
To me teaching, like practicing, is a journey – not so much a destination. I like to encourage students to be mindful. Mindful with breath, mindful in the way they move, mindful in the way they transition from pose to pose. I do this so that every second of the practice can be utilized, absorbed and ultimately, heal your body.
I love to teach Yang Yoga (Flow Hot and PV) with the heat of the room and the excitement this more ‘exercise model’ of yoga provides. I also love Yin, with its restorative energy and its promise of accessing areas of the body yet unexplored.
Flow Hot Yoga is a great community. I feel a real sense of being valued and valuable, it’s a beautiful thing.
