I regularly remind my classes that growth is in the journey – not the destination. My journey started after years behind an office desk and having a body not known for its flexibility. Looking for something to slow my over active mind down and de-stress at the end of the day, I decided to give yoga a try. From my first class there was an overwhelming feeling that I had started on a journey of self discovery and my body thirst for the stillness that came within when practicing.
4 years on and yoga to me is not about a path for creating a flexible body. It is about acknowledging the connection with oneself physically, mentally and emotionally. It is a path to accepting who we are, flexible or not. To find the space & potential within, to open tight minds and slow down enough to just be present in the moment.
Through Greta, Jess & Vic’s inspiring teaching and their personal example, my practice was nurtured to the point where in January 2013, I took the next step and completed my teacher training in Australia with John Ogilvie at Purna Yoga. Enjoying the balance of asanas, pranayama, meditation & philosophy, I learnt yoga is more than the poses we do on our mats and wish to reflect this balance in my classes and life.
I love being a part of the Flow Hot yoga community with its sense of family and acceptance. I am as much a fellow student as I am a teacher. Here to guide, support, share and have fun along the way in our personal journeys we refer to as yoga.
