I first discovered yoga in my teens at my local gym where I attended classes on a casual basis. It wasn't until the big September earthquake of 2010 that really got my A into G. After the earthquake I suffered from severe panic attacks, anxiety and insomnia, I needed to heal myself from the inside out. I remembered how those classes in my teens had helped me to feel grounded and at peace so I went back, and this time not so casually. I went in full steam ahead practicing as often as I could and beginning my first home based practice which I still love today.
I love all things wellness, self care and movement orientated. I am a first degree black belt in the Korean martial art of Taekwondo. I love how interconnected my practice of yoga and tkd are, complementing eachother on so many levels. Achieving a black belt is no easy feat, it took me many years of practice, blood, sweat and tears, much like my journey toward becomming a yoga teacher! Both yoga and tkd are fundamentally journeys of self discovery, and I believe that is ultimately what we all seek to find... ourselves.
I knew I wanted to be a yoga teacher at least three years before I was able to complete my 200 hour teacher training. Life commitments slowed my teaching journey, buying my first home with my husband in 2015 and finally in June 2016 I was able to travel to Bali where I immersed myself in my training for five weeks.
I adore teaching and am forever a student, I wish to continue learning, training and upskilling as much as possible so I can offer my best self to the students I teach.
Something I often remind myself when life gets busy - Self care is not always easy, but it is always worth it.
Being a part of the Flow community has made me feel incredibly loved, and supported and I know I'm right where I'm supposed to be. I look forward to seeing you all on the mat!
